The Olympics BMX race finally aired and the main events were nothing short of exciting. In the Women’s Final, France’s Anne-Caroline Chausson and Great Britain’s Shanaze Reade battled to the last turn until a last ditch effort to take the lead by Reade took her down and gave Chausson the breathing room to bring home the gold. America’s Jill Kintner rode strong all the way to the line and pulled in behind France’s Laetitia le Corguille for the third place bronze medal.

In the Men’s Final, Mike Day was all over Latvia’s Maris Strombergs, but could never get a clear shot for the pass. Mike had a few opportunities to go for inside moves, but they would have meant contact and been risky. Mike played it safe and rode smart—hoping for a place to make a clean pass. That opportunity didn’t come, and Mike had to settle for second and the silver medal. U.S.A.’s Donny Robinson took the third place bronze, giving the U.S. a total of three medals in BMX Racing.
